The Department of Culture and Tourism, through the Associated Image and Promotion of Tourism in Galicia has created the Senior Golf Circuit I Turgalicia, a test designed to promote Galicia golf tourist destination among the Spanish public. As he detailed the department heads Roberto Varela, in this circuit, this Tuesday, June 7, begin the qualifying events in the Campo Golf Layos of Toledo, which will continue in the Campo de Golf Salamanca, on 9 June. In this Senior Golf Tour I also Turgalicia qualifying events held in the RACE golf courses in Madrid on June 16, and Los Balagares, in Gijón, on June 28.
Thus, open to all those senior players (women and men) in possession of license and handicaps by the Spanish Golf Federation. The tender handicap for men is 26.4 and for women 36.4.
GRAND FINAL.
After this early stage, and in September, between 13 and 16, golf courses and Meis Mondariz Spa will host the Grand Final I Turgalicia Senior Golf Circuit.
As explained Culture and Tourism, at this stage there will be two categories to be decided according to hándiaps players. Regarding the awards, these include stays in tourist establishments in Galicia and Galician products quality.
TOURISM PRODUCT
From the standpoint of promoting tourism in Galicia, the ‘I Turgalicia Senior Golf Tour’ consists in creating a product for the senior golfer, designed by combining three specific attributes, built on the strengths of the Galician tourism, spas, dining and golf courses.
The senior golf product objectives on the one hand, Galicia position as the ideal destination for golfers and older players to attract national profile to visit the Galician Community, offering an alternative and highly valued tourist differentiated by them.
Furthermore, with this initiative, the Regional Government intends to serve as liaison between the golf industry and the local tourism industry. Thus, this circuit will also encourage the submission of the selection of courses and tourist services through a strategically differentiated product.
