Kaymer, surprise and new German hero

Posted by Aaeron Ehast

KaymerThe exclusive Langer was ended. The veteran golfer, about to turn 54 years and a contemporary of Seve Ballesteros, was and will always be revered in his country because Germany was the only player capable of winning titles of ‘Grand Slam’ (Masters 1985 and 1993). But times change and now the Germans are back in congratulations. Seventeen years later, Kaymer followed in the footsteps of the master.

Kaymer, who improved his thirteenth place in the world, thus adding to his resume with a first title of ‘Grand Slam’, the first of a German in the PGA Championship and his inauguration as U.S. champion. The success of the golfer, whose relationship with Spain is very close to keep an engagement with a Spanish woman, devoted a meteoric career.

Born in Dusseldorf, was the first German named Rookie of the Year in Europe in the 2007 season. In this short period has five titles on the continental circuit. Only three years after his triumphant debut, Kaymer joined the select group of winners of majors, whose last seven titles have been won by players who won for the first time.

His triumph was, however, laborious, long and exciting, as doomed to a three-hole playoff to cost him a dumb crush the American Bubba Watson. However, the outcome of the 72-hole tournament was punctuated by controversy. Kaymer, Watson and fellow American Dustin Johnson finished the excellent tour of Whestling Straits tied at 11 under par, but the organization penalized latter and his dream was frustrated early.

Previously, Dustin Johnson “pulled” the tournament on the 18th hole, then agreed to that end as a leader and one-stroke lead after a huge birdie on the dreaded 17th hole par 3. But the U.S. ran aground with an erratic output, to one of the ‘bunkers’ that flank the street. Johnson scored a ‘bogey’ after missing a putt of just over two meters, which led him straight to the tiebreaker. But at the height of the misfortunes, received a sentence of two-stroke penalty for supporting the base of the stick in the sand trap.

With Johnson out of action in offices in one of the most controversial decisions in recent years, Watson and Kaymer settle the final tournament of ‘Grand Slam’ of golf season with a tie in this tournament is set to three holes (10, 17 and 18) and total score.

In hand to hand, misfortune allied with the lefty Bubba Watson, the second best ‘hitting’ the PGA Tour, as he visited the water hole 18 with the second shot. Watson sank a ‘birdie’ on the first hole, Kaymer also responded with a superb on the 17th hole. But the outcome was fatal to the American public rage that animated his player.

Kaymer, at the serious mistake of his rival, played conservative. Hit a second shot from a slope tended to be provided a more comfortable third ‘green’ and win, even with a ‘bogey’ end that tarnishes their work at all, but on the contrary, it opens the door for a future promising.
