Gonzalo Fernandez-Castano is one of three players invited to participate in the PGA Championship, the fourth ‘big’ year to be played from 12 to 15 August in the field of Whistling Straits near Kohler, Wisconsin.
The tournament selection rules make the final selection criteria are made from invitations issued by the PGA. Thus Fernandez-Castano, who has already played this ‘major’ last year, was invited, along with Korean Noh Seung 19-yul and Briton Simon Khan.
This will be four playing in the Spanish Whistling Straits, in the edition 92 of the PGA Championship: Sergio Garcia, Miguel Angel Jimenez, Alvaro Quiros and Gonzalo Fernandez-Castano.
The fourth ‘major’ of the year still has two vacancies that will leave the winners of the Bridgestone Invitational, third round of the World Golf Championships this year, and the Turning Stone Resort Championship, this weekend.
